🚀 This Week's Hacks: 68% more reviews with this waiting game ⏳

The best email of your week

Hey, Marketers! It’s hot out there, huh? As you take a break from sizzling like a human hot dog, take a peek at these growth hacks we rounded up just for you:

What’s in the news…

Meta beat out analyst predictions with double-digit revenue growth in Q2, Twitter is rebranding as a letter (X), and game creation platform Roblox launched its own ad network.

Growth Hacks

#1. Increase reviews by 68%

Wanna have your customers say something?

Asking customers immediately or too soon to leave a review could backfire. But giving them enough time to enjoy the product means they're more likely to leave a positive review.

So what's the sweet spot?

Wait at least 10 days to request a review.

This comes from recent experiments involving South Korea’s largest travel platform and customers of a major apparel marketplace. It showed:

- Asking for a review 1 day after a trip reduced the number of reviews by 48%

- Asking 13 days after increased reviews by 68%

And for the apparel company:

- Asking after 14 days increased reviews by 39%

Psychologically, when we're reminded to do a task it brings up memories of the experience. Ask too early, and the memory is still too fresh - the reminder is useless. Give customers time to gather their thoughts.

Based on these findings, if you're selling experiences, wait longer to send a review reminder than if you're selling common household items. But every company is different, so test different time frames and try incentivizing the review.

#3. How to write a milestone post that goes viral

“We reached 100K subscribers!"

"Our 1 millionth user just signed up!"

"700K followers on Instagram? Wow!"

Look familiar? These milestone posts aren't just celebrating a big win - they're also a marketing tool.

How?

- They can encourage a ton of shares

- They nurture existing connections

- They're an opportunity to outline a vision for the future

- They let you summarize your brand's journey so far

Here are a few ideas for milestone posts that tick both boxes: the marketing and the personal

1) Say it with a thank you. Thank customers, followers, subscribers, etc. with a personalized note - you can even call a few out by name. There's nothing like showing some gratitutde to make people feel special and show what your brand is all about.

2) Share your insights. There's a lot you probably learned on the way to this achievement. Share a peek into that journey with some personal insights that help people gain a better understanding of your brand and its growth path.

3) Give a glance at the data. Sharing a screenshot or other depiction of your growth graph gives people a visual explanation of your journey. They'll feel more involved and encouraged to be a part of future growth when they see how far you've come.

4) Introduce a call to action. Milestone posts are already upping the excitement level a notch. Leverage the positive emotion around this event and get your followers and custoemrs to join in the celebration by providing specific calls to action. Think incentives (e.g. discounts) and special offers that can boost conversions.
