#1. 5 ways to refresh your cold emails for 2023

What's the difference between 2022 and 2023? Well, if you live on Planet Earth, you'll know: Pretty much everything.

With that in mind, you can't adopt your same cold email strategy this year as the last. Priorities have changed, we've all gone even more mobile, and sales language feels more toxic than ever before.

Here, Yurii Veremchuk, Head of Business Growth at Woodpecker, shares how you can hit the refresh button on your cold emails for 2023, in 5 steps:

1) No more salesy subject lines. Use 1-3 words and make it look internal.

Change from: "onboarding and analytics for "

To: "onboarding"

2) Pack your preview with research, facts, etc. 100 characters can go a long way to encourage and open and back up your claims.

Change from: "My name is . I saw on LinkedIn you're a ."

To: "John - I see 2 openings for a BDR role on your team.'

3) Adopt a mobile-first format. KISS (keep it short and simple).

Change from: "Having talked to in , I've noticed that is a common problem in most companies. How are you currently handling onboarding processes for new hired?"

To: "Curious if you had any success using an onbaording tool to ramp up reps faster."

4) Stop feature-dropping. Avoid triggering mental spam/sales filters with softer tones, social proof, and simplicity.

Change from: "At , we built an analytics platform that saves time and money using and ."

To: "We built one that decreases ramp-up time by 1/3. just did that with us in three months."

5) Try a less demanding CTA. A softer call-to-action puts less pressure on a prospect.

Change from: "Happy to walk through a demo together. How about a 20 min call tomorrow at 3 PM?"

To: "Worth a chat?"

Happy prospecting!

#2. Improve content with Google's Newest AI

NotebookLM is the latest AI tool coming out of Google Labs. The goal? Extract insights from your Google Docs more quickly, accurately, and easily.

But beyond that, you can use it to improve your content - using the content you already made! Here's what we mean:

- Extract niche insights from long-form content using the summarize feature

- Create related content by asking questions that prompt a deeper dive into the doc ("Can you summarize all the times Houdini and Conan Doyle interacted?")

- Get to the next step by uploading a doc of ideas and asking the AI to generate content based off of it ("Write a short video script about this topic")

#3. Boost purchase intent during the holidays 2.9X on Reddit

The Holiday 2023 on Reddit Insights & Marketing Guide just dropped, and the takeaway? It's never too early to start holiday marketing on the platform.

Why? It's the #1 platform that customers use to help make informed decisions about their purchases.

And here are some user stats to back that up:

- 85% of shoppers who used Reddit for holiday gifting made a purchase decision based on that research.

- Redditors are 2.3X more likely to increase how much they spend this holiday season compared to last.

- Compared to non-Redditors, they're 64% more likely to start researching holiday gifts as early as April-May.

So as you start thinking about holiday marketing on Reddit, the guide has some tips for that, too:

- Set up your campaigns by October for a 2.9X lift in purchase intent.

- Run campaigns for two or more moments in the Q4 season and you could achieve a 73% boost in purchase intent.

- Run multiple Takeovers during the holidays to see a 96% purchase intent lift.

- Use a combination of static images and videos for a 6X boost in brand awareness and 2.8X lift in purchase intent.

Reach Redditors by October, and it seems your purchases should soar through the holidays.
