Growth Hacks
#1. Re-engage users with direct mail campaigns ✉️

Direct mail has an average response rate of 9%. In comparison, organic social and paid search have response rates of 0.4% and 0.6%, respectively.
One powerful application of direct mail is automated retargeting. A straightforward way to test this approach is to segment site visitors who abandon their cart into two groups.
The control group receives the standard abandoned cart email flow, while the second group receives a beautifully designed postcard with a unique QR promo code offering 10% off their first purchase.
This direct mail campaign can be set up to be sent within 12-24 hours of cart abandonment. By comparing the conversion rates of both groups, you can evaluate the effectiveness of the direct mail campaign.
Direct mail can engage customers who might not otherwise respond to digital retargeting, resulting in a 300-400% lift in conversion rates for cart abandoners, according to a study. Automating the process is easy with tools like Inkit, Lob, or Rejoiner.

#2. Sponsoring newsletters to increase subscribers 📈
Growing a newsletter takes a lot of work and patience, but Marketing Max has dropped some gems on how to grow your company’s newsletter.
Marketing Max decided to start a new newsletter called Growth Hacks Weekly. To quickly grow the subscriber base, Max researched strategies and found that sponsoring other newsletters was the fastest way to do it.
Max took to Twitter and asked, "Who has a newsletter?" to find potential sponsorship opportunities. Max identified newsletters with the potential to generate sign-ups at a cost of $2 or below per sign-up and ran ads in them. To expand reach, Max also bartered some ads in those newsletters for Tik Tok shoutouts and paid for others.
Overall, Max spent around $1,500 in cash and $3,000 worth of Tik Tok shoutouts. His efforts garnered him an impressive 2,000 new subscribers across all channels.

#3. Discount rules to live by 🛒
Discounts are a great way to grow your sales, but you don’t want to hand out discounts at the expense of your bottom line. Looking to experiment with discounts? Here are some guidelines to keep in mind:
Don't offer more than a 20-25% discount. Steep discounts can dilute your brand's value.
Make discounts random in terms of when and what they are. This prevents your audience from holding off on buying until your predictable "annual sale."
Start by focusing on user segments that need a nudge, rather than offering discounts to your entire audience. This allows you to test discounts without cannibalizing leads who will likely buy at full price.
The best discounts are those that align with your product, incentivizing activation, habit-building, and long-term use. For example:
"Get 30% off if you buy 10 or more" is more effective than "get 30% off your first order." The former encourages more product use, increasing the likelihood that your product's value will be realized and leading to a higher lifetime value.
Free trials are also effective, as they decrease initial friction and give prospects time to experience your product's value.
Discounts on annual subscriptions increase the chance of activation and building a product habit.
Experimenting with discounts can be a useful strategy, but it's important to do so thoughtfully to avoid diluting your brand's value. Give these guidelines a go as you explore new discount opportunities.
